Homage to the square: Bankruptcy

UV print on masonite, WeWork’s secondary palette
2024

What are the colors of bankruptcy? If Josef Albers attributed agency to colors—where different shades, in relation to one another, create “good neighborly relationships”—then in this Homage to the Square, the palette used is that of a failing company. This small masonite square, featuring a color scheme carefully calibrated by one of the world’s top graphic design studios, also serves as a personal study in color use, suggesting the shades that will shape my future works. This work is conceived as an open series, allowing for future color studies that can be applied to other projects.
