The analog photographs displayed here depict rooms where I have been hosted. They are mostly anonymous places, yet they always reveal a bit of what the people who inhabit them are or want to show themselves to be. The series 'Remembered Environments' is an attempt to photograph the memories of these homes.
Starting from my memory, I reconstructed the rooms using 3D CGI. I photographed the screen on film and then printed them in silver salts.
However, this reconstruction can always and only be partial. In forcing myself to remember all the details, biases, logic, and socio-cultural conditions fill the gaps and omissions that memory inherently has.
In attempting to photograph my memories, in the effort to construct these rooms from memory, I forgot the original memory. Now, in its place, I find the photograph itself.

To keep the entrance of the exhibition space open, there is a cat. One of the many 3d objects created for Kitchen 2018, the feline doorstop did not find space in the frame of Cucina 2018. Retrieved from oblivion, Ricordino has been returned to its utility.
